The eight double bedrooms are all en suite and all look outwards, two with a double bed and six with twin beds. Two living rooms furnished with sofas and armchairs give guests separate places to gather, and the fully equipped kitchen and the outdoor barbecue make it easy to cook and eat together. Free WiFi and private parking on the property cover the practical side.
The garden is laid out around a saltwater pool, with a solarium and a pergola for shade. A leisure room with table tennis and bicycles covers the quieter hours, and the trails that cross the estate lead straight into the surrounding countryside.
The open area in front of the house can take a marquee for a lunch or dinner of up to 250 people, which makes the finca workable for large celebrations as well as for a private family stay.
The Son Bou urbanisation is close by for snorkelling, kayaking, shops and evening life, while Torre d’en Galmés and the town of Alaior are a few minutes away inland. Son Bou sits on the south coast of Menorca, in the municipality of Alaior, and its beach is the longest on the island at over 2.5 kilometres of sand.
The Son Bou urbanisation covers the practical side of a stay, with restaurants, bars, shops and places to hire kayaks or paddleboards, so there is no need to drive to Maón or Ciutadella for the basics. The water is shallow and calm, which makes the beach straightforward with children.
East of the resort the coast turns quiet again. The Camí de Cavalls, the historic path that circles the island, runs behind the bay and links a string of smaller coves, among them Llucalari, which the finca reaches through its own access. Near the beach are the remains of the Basílica Paleocristiana de Son Bou, an early Christian church of the 5th century whose ruins were uncovered in 1951.
Inland, the town of Alaior and the Torre d’en Galmés site give this part of the island a different character from the resort strip, and the rest of Menorca’s south coast is within easy reach by car.
